Activity Report

  • The Department of Life Sciences and Allied Health Sciences at the University Institute of Sciences, Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Jalandhar, organized an awareness camp on "Health and Hygiene" at Government Primary School, Ghurial, Cluster Massanian, Block Adampur, Jalandhar, on 9th October 2023.
  • The awareness drive was led by Dr. Aksh Sharma (Coordinator, Life Sciences and Allied Health Sciences), Dr. Chetna Sharma (Activity In-charge, Life Sciences and Allied Health Sciences), and Ms. Meena (Event In-charge, Life Sciences and Allied Health Sciences).
  • This activity aimed to promote the well-being of individuals and communities by preventing the spread of infectious diseases and reducing the burden of illness and disability.
  • During this drive, students from the Department of Life Sciences and Allied Health Sciences guided the school children about healthy eating habits, the importance of a balanced diet, and cleanliness.
  • They encouraged the young generation to adopt healthy lifestyle practices to prevent the spread of diseases and to keep our surroundings and environment clean.
  • During this awareness drive, students were educated about proper hand-washing techniques and personal hygiene habits. They were also demonstrated the correct way to cover coughs and sneezes to reduce the transmission of germs.
  • Students demonstrated these techniques by displaying posters and delivering PowerPoint presentations.
  • The information was also provided to the students in the local language (Punjabi) to ensure inclusivity and accessibility.
  • To reinforce the outcomes, games and quizzes were also conducted, incorporating fun elements.
  • Amrit, a student of B.Sc. (MLS) 5th Semester, presented a song on Health and Hygiene.
  • The Department of Life Sciences and Allied Health Sciences at SBBSU distributed stationery to brilliant students.
  • Candies were also distributed among all the students.
  • Overall, this awareness campaign was very fruitful for all and appreciated by the audience.
  • The event concluded with a vote of thanks to all for sparing their valuable time and participating enthusiastically.
  • The school authorities highly appreciated the efforts of SBBSU in conducting such types of awareness programs.
